Winter is Coming! Help us clean up the farm!
October 18, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
It’s that time of year!
The downside to planting over 25,000 vegetable plants earlier this year is that now we have 25,000 plants to remove and compost!
This is one of several work days where we can use your help.
Come for just an hour or stay all day! We appreciate your help!
In addition to bed cleaning we need help with:
• planting our Garlic crop for next year before the ground freezes.
• prepping beds for winter
• harvest crops
• fixing some structures around the farm
• mending fencing
• fixing garden tools
• rebuilding the gate
• planting cover crops
• building raised beds
• moving compost
• rebuilding compost piles
• tree trimming
Bring gloves and clothes to get a bit dirty in.
Please bring water so you can stay hydrated while you work.
Volunteers are free to take home any produce that is still producing on the plants. This may include celery, cabbage, corn, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant.
Address is 2643 19th St NE, Canton, OH.
PLEASE NOTE: a phone or car GPS does not take you to the right location.
Farm entrance is directly east of Crenshaw Middle School at 2525 19th St NE.
There is a driveway on the hillside directly across the street from Grace Ave NE that you will enter the farm site from.
Drive on through the green fencing to enter the farm.
