Since 2015, StarkFresh has distributed 419,770 free seed packets—worth nearly three dollars each, or one million dollars—to the people of our community.
In doing so, we have made it easier and less daunting for people to grow produce in their own home gardens.
We source our seed packets in partnership with Canton Public Health and distribute them in collaboration with local libraries, health departments, and other nonprofit agencies.
Many seed distribution sites don’t simply provide seed packets; they also offer workshops to ensure that people understand how to grow their new seeds into food to feed their households.
