Pathways Out of Poverty
StarkFresh acknowledges that no individual or single group can eradicate hunger or its leading cause, poverty, all on their own.
It will require decades of intentional and targeted collaboration among many groups and individuals to bring about the systemic change needed to improve the lives of people living in poverty.
Over the years, StarkFresh has identified five realistic pathways out of poverty. Through research and experience, we have determined that established methods are largely ineffective.
For example, providing free food is not a solution to eradicating poverty or hunger. Is food charity a necessity in today's world? Sure. Will it permanently solve hunger? No.
Fighting hunger without collaboration is also not effective. The collective impact of StarkFresh's programming benefits from us working alongside our neighbors and partners—and even sometimes our detractors—toward common goals
With your help, we can widen these pathways even more.

Successful Re-entry
When thinking about how people can reenter society successfully, we tend to focus on those who have been incarcerated, but people who have been divorced or were in the foster care system, and those who have experienced homelessness or domestic violence, also need help with reentry.
We've identified ways in which barriers can be removed through:
Flexible employment opportunities
Unique employment options for income generation through entrepreneurship
Easy access to cookware
Easy, affordable food access
